Seasonal flu vaccination
We hold flu clinics between October and January each year. If you are aged 65 or over or in one of the "at risk" groups (see below) you are eligible for a free flu vaccination.
We do not routinely write to patients to offer flu vaccinations but we hope that if you are eligible you will contact the surgery each year to book your appointment. You can usually arrange your appointment from August onwards. The sooner in the season you have your vaccination the more effective your protection will be.
People eligible for the flu jab:
- Everyone aged 65 and over
- Pregnant Women
- Heart disease (not high blood pressure)
- Diabetes
- Asthma
- Multiple sclerosis
- Serious kidney and liver disease
- People who have had a stroke
- People with compromised immunity
If you have an ongoing medical problem and are unsure whether you are eligible for a flu vaccination, please call us.
We are, however, unable to supply flu jabs to anyone outside these risk groups, but they can be purchased from some pharmacists.
